The Perception 420 is a versatile, dual-diaphragm condenser microphone designed to replace the discontinued Perception 400. Built for a wide range of studio applications, it features a side-address design and comes packaged with a robust shockmount and a compact aluminum carrying case.

At its core are two back-to-back, one-inch true condenser capsules, allowing the user to switch between cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 polar patterns via a toggle switch housed in its durable cast zinc-alloy body. Additional features include a switchable 20dB attenuation pad and a low-cut filter (300Hz, 12dB/octave), making it well-equipped for both vocal and instrument recording despite its affordable price point.

While its pastel-blue metallic finish stands out visually, the Perception 420 adheres closely to the classic form factor of a professional side-address studio microphone. The overall build quality and engineering are impressive, offering solid performance in both project and professional studio settings.
