Smith and Wesson Handcuffs Model 94 (Rare) Long Chain

$275.00

Smith & Wesson’s Model 94—introduced in 1969 as a “maximum/high-security” chain handcuff—was S&W’s first serious move beyond the universal-key pattern, using a pick-resistant pin-tumbler lock and a family of restricted keys (often stamped with letters such as D, E, G, H, L, M, N, R, S). Early production went through small design iterations (collectors often describe Version 1 as two right-hand cuffs, later versions pairing left/right with smoother pivots), and the line was marketed to agencies needing tighter key control. While most Model 94s are the standard short-chain configuration, you’ll occasionally see “long-chain” examples; seasoned collectors have noted that many of those appear to be non-factory assemblies made from two regular cuffs rather than an official S&W variant—so provenance and construction details (e.g., whether the two halves are identical right-hand units) matter a lot for valuation. Overall, authentic, complete Model 94s remain desirable because they’re discontinued, mechanically distinctive, and harder to find than garden-variety Model 100s
